It was with great intrepedation that I set out for the PODS show at mona showground.

All the teams had changed and the dogs had only worked together once or twice before.

Steve my right hand man and boxloader had only just come out of hospital on the Wednesday and could not do anything to help, inspite of this the day ended well and exceeded my expectations (again!) A credit to everyone for pulling together.

So here's how the teams did ........

Valley Starters

Dodge, zoo, kim, Bessie

It was Dodge, Zoot, and Kims very first time at a tournament, neither the dogs or the handlers were experienced and Bessie running as 4th dog had only competed twice before. After the first two races the dogs settled down and started to work as a team, with this we started winning some legs.

By the time the last two legs of the day came, poor Dodges 4 legs would not carry him any further so we finished off with Zoot, Kim and Bessie.

The team finished with a very respectable 4th place, as we had expected to come last.

Best time 27.59secs

Well Done.

Valley Houndogs

Cemlyn, Bodie, Tigger, Tumble

I decided it would be best for the Hound dogs to go N.F.C (not for competition) as Tumble kept running out during the practice runs. (I hope no one contributed to Derek's collection!!!!). The day was not wasted as the team continued to work with Tumble and wings and by the end of the day Tumble was running well in the Blue lane although not completely happy with the Red. The other dogs on the team enjoyed the racing and worked consistently. Do dogs know if they are racing N.F.C ???

Valley Hot Dogs

Flynn, Liffey, Daniel, TJ, Taffy

Flynn & Liffey joined the Hot dogs for their first time in open competition, both dogs had only ever raced in starters once before. The dogs worked well and raced hard fighting for every leg.

At the end of the division their was a one leg run off for 2nd, 3rd & 4th place between ourselves, livewires and Peas in a Pod. We won both our runs and finished the Division in 2nd place with a best time of 21.53 secs.

Flynn has made flyball dog & luckily Liffey was none the worse for ware after mowing down a line judge walking across both lanes during racing!!!!!

Although it was another long day, it was a good days racing. Thanks to eveyone that managed to stay until the end for the presentations.

  Well Done.
